A video from a previous India-China troop clash was shared online with claims that it was a recent confrontation, but Press Trust of India confirmed the footage is old and the allegations are false.
A clip showing soldiers from India and China exchanging fire was originally recorded during a border clash that took place several years ago. The footage, which depicts the tense standoff, was recently resurfaced on social media with claims that it represented a current confrontation.
The claims circulated online were not supported by any verifiable evidence. Press Trust of India (PTI) investigated the source of the video and confirmed that it is from an earlier incident and does not reflect any recent clash.
PTI urged users to verify the authenticity of such videos before sharing them and warned that misinformation can inflame tensions between the two nations.
The agency emphasized that accurate reporting is essential, especially on sensitive matters involving national security.
