The National Medical Commission has invited applications from experienced advocates to serve as standing counsels for 17 positions across the Supreme Court and High Courts.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued an official call for applications to empanel 17 standing counsels. These positions are designated for legal representation before the Supreme Court of India and various High Courts. The move is aimed at strengthening the Commission's in-house legal expertise to handle complex institutional and medical law matters.

To be eligible, advocates must possess significant experience in medical law and institutional litigation. The selection criteria emphasize a substantial number of years in practice and a proven track record of appearances in High Courts. The Commission seeks legal professionals who can navigate the specific nuances of healthcare regulation and administrative law.

Once empaneled, these counsels will be responsible for drafting legal documents, conducting comprehensive legal research, and providing regular updates on the progress of ongoing cases. The role requires a deep understanding of both statutory requirements and judicial precedents relevant to the medical sector.
