The Mumbai Crime Branch has concluded that the extortion call demanding Rs 5 crore from actor Tusshar Kapoor was not linked to the Bishnoi gang, with technical analysis revealing the caller was an impersonator.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has completed a preliminary investigation into a threatening phone call received by actor Tusshar Kapoor. The caller, who claimed to be a member of a gang, demanded an extortion amount of Rs 5 crore from the actor.

During the inquiry, the police technical team conducted a detailed analysis of the audio recording from the call. The investigation revealed that the voice of the caller did not match any official voice samples associated with the Bishnoi gang, effectively ruling out a direct link to the notorious group.

Police officials stated that the individual behind the call likely used the gang's name to instill fear and facilitate the extortion. The impersonator attempted to leverage the gang's reputation to pressure the actor into paying the demanded sum.

The Crime Branch continues to monitor the situation as part of its standard protocol for handling such extortion threats, ensuring the safety of the celebrity while identifying the true perpetrator behind the impersonation.
