Madhya Pradesh authorities have cut down over 150,000 sal trees to prevent the spread of a destructive beetle infestation.
Madhya Pradesh has initiated a massive tree felling operation to combat a severe beetle outbreak threatening its forests. Authorities have ordered the cutting of more than 150,000 sal trees to contain the infestation and prevent further damage to the ecosystem.
The decision comes as the beetle population spreads rapidly, posing a significant risk to the health of the sal forests. By removing the affected trees, the state aims to break the cycle of infection and protect the remaining healthy vegetation.
This aggressive measure highlights the urgent need to address pest control in the region's dense woodlands. The state government is monitoring the situation closely to ensure the outbreak does not escalate into a larger environmental crisis.
