The sealed house where Saurabh Rajput was murdered in March 2025 will undergo a shuddhikaran and havan ceremony after Diwali, according to the owner.
A house in Meerut, popularly known as the ‘blue drum murder house’, has remained sealed since the fatal shooting of Saurabh Rajput in March 2025. The property, which drew widespread media attention, stayed untouched while police investigations continued.
The owner announced that, following Diwali, the premises will be subjected to a shuddhikaran (purification) and havan (ritual fire) ceremony. The ritual is intended to cleanse the site of any perceived negative energy and to restore a sense of normalcy for the neighbourhood.
Family members of the deceased have expressed a deep emotional connection to the house, returning briefly to pay respects and to witness the planned purification. Their presence underscores the lingering trauma the murder has inflicted on the community.
