Mayor Sunil Kotari Promises Cleanup After Waste Found Near His Residence

A large mound of garbage was found outside the Bhairon Baba temple, only a few metres from the residence of Jaipur’s mayor, Sunil Kotari. The discovery came after a report by Amar Ujala, which highlighted the contrast between the city’s cleanliness campaign and the littering near the mayor’s home.

Kotari responded to the media query by promising that municipal workers would clear the waste immediately. He also said the city would review its waste‑management protocols to prevent similar incidents.

The incident has drawn criticism from local residents who feel the mayor’s office should set a higher standard for civic cleanliness. City officials have yet to release a timetable for the cleanup.

The mayor’s office reiterated its commitment to the Swachh Jaipur initiative, emphasizing that all areas of the city, including those close to government residences, will be maintained.

Observers note that the event underscores the challenges of enforcing cleanliness standards in rapidly growing urban centres.
