Manipur Violence Probe Extended to May 2027

The government has extended the mandate of the committee probing the ethnic violence that erupted in Manipur in May 2023. This marks the sixth time the deadline for the investigation has been pushed back. The new deadline is set for May 2027. The committee was initially tasked with submitting its report by September 2023. However, due to the complexity of the case and the need for a thorough investigation, the deadline has been repeatedly extended.
