Kerala Education Minister C P John has called for Malayalam to be taught in all schools, urging educational institutions to incorporate the language into their curricula.

Kerala Education Minister C P John has urged that Malayalam be taught in all schools, stating that the language should be considered a vital part of education.

The minister made the remark during a recent briefing at the state’s education department, emphasizing that Malayalam is the official language of Kerala and a key element of its cultural identity.

John highlighted that many schools currently do not offer Malayalam as a subject, and that including it would help students gain a deeper understanding of their heritage and improve linguistic skills.

He added that the proposal is aimed at fostering greater appreciation for regional languages across the country, encouraging schools to broaden their language offerings.
