The Jaipur Metro will extend its operating hours to 12:30 a.m. on 11 November, a temporary change to accommodate increased passenger traffic during Diwali.
The Jaipur Metro has announced a temporary extension of its service hours, with trains running until 12:30 a.m. on 11 November. This change follows the usual schedule, which typically ends around 11:30 p.m., and is aimed at easing the flow of commuters during the Diwali celebrations. The decision comes after a review of passenger demand projections for the holiday period.
The metro network, which began operations in 2019, serves the capital city of Rajasthan and has become a vital mode of transport for residents and tourists alike. The extended hours are expected to reduce congestion on roads and provide a safer, more convenient option for those traveling to and from markets and cultural events.
City officials have stated that the extension will be in effect only for the day of 11 November, after which normal operating hours will resume. Safety protocols, including increased staffing and crowd management measures, will be in place to ensure a smooth experience for all passengers.
