India, EU Finalise Association with Horizon Europe Research Programme

Recently, India and the European Union finalized negotiations to associate India with the Horizon Europe research programme, a €93.5‑billion initiative that supports scientific research across Europe. The programme offers funding, infrastructure support and collaborative platforms for researchers. By joining, Indian scientists will gain access to EU research networks and funding streams that were previously unavailable. Indian businesses, especially those in high‑tech and innovation sectors, stand to benefit from joint projects, technology transfer and market access that the partnership promises. The agreement is seen as a step toward deepening India‑EU cooperation in science and technology, aligning with India’s broader innovation strategy.
