Congress leader Hardeep Puri is set to win the Rajya Sabha by-election in Madhya Pradesh unopposed after the election commission rejected the nominations of two other candidates.
Congress leader Hardeep Puri is poised to secure a victory in the Rajya Sabha by-election in Madhya Pradesh without facing any direct competition. The electoral outcome was determined after the election authorities rejected the nomination papers of two other candidates who had sought to contest the seat.
With the disqualification of her rivals, Puri becomes the sole valid candidate for the position. This development effectively concludes the contest, as no other eligible candidates remain on the ballot to challenge her candidacy in the upcoming election.
The rejection of the nominations highlights the rigorous scrutiny applied to candidate paperwork in Indian elections. As the only remaining contender, Puri is expected to be declared the winner of the by-election, filling the vacant seat in the upper house of Parliament.
