GV Prakash has been confirmed as the new music director for the upcoming Vijay Sethupathi and Thiagarajan Kumarar project, succeeding legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja.
GV Prakash has officially been named the music composer for the forthcoming film starring Vijay Sethupathi and directed by Thiagarajan Kumarar, replacing the iconic Ilaiyaraaja. The announcement was made by the production house in a brief statement, confirming Prakash’s involvement in the project’s score.
Prakash, who has previously worked with Sethupathi on several projects, brings a contemporary style that is expected to complement the film’s modern narrative. His collaboration with the lead actor has been praised for its fresh musical approach.
Replacing Ilaiyaraaja, a veteran whose work has defined Tamil cinema for decades, marks a significant shift for the film’s soundtrack. Industry observers note that Prakash’s appointment could signal a new direction in the movie’s musical identity.
The composer is slated to begin recording sessions in the coming weeks, with the release of the first track anticipated ahead of the film’s premiere.
