Gujarat is launching a comprehensive tourism development package worth Rs 426 crore, featuring a new IRCTC hotel, a cruise facility, and a rain forest project.
The state of Gujarat has outlined a significant investment plan to revamp its tourism infrastructure, with a total outlay of Rs 426 crore. This strategic initiative aims to diversify the state's travel offerings and attract a wider range of domestic and international visitors.
A key component of this makeover is the construction of a new hotel by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), valued at Rs 50 crore. This addition is expected to enhance accommodation options for travelers exploring the region.
Beyond hospitality, the state is investing in unique experiential tourism. A Rs 14.3 crore project for a Rain Forest attraction and a Rs 16 crore investment in a cruise facility are part of the package. These projects are designed to provide distinct leisure experiences that complement Gujarat's existing cultural and heritage sites.
The government views this multi-faceted approach as a catalyst for boosting local economies and creating employment opportunities in the tourism sector. By combining luxury accommodation with nature-based and water-based activities, Gujarat aims to position itself as a premier destination in western India.
