Fact Crescendo Sri Lanka has debunked a viral video claiming troop exchanges in Arunachal, identifying it as a Kazakhstan military training exercise.
A video circulating on social media platforms has sparked confusion by allegedly showing Indian and Chinese troops exchanging fire in the Arunachal region. However, fact-checking agency Fact Crescendo Sri Lanka has clarified that the footage does not depict any conflict between the two nations.
The agency has identified the source of the viral clip as a military training video from Kazakhstan. The visuals in the video, which were shared with misleading captions, actually belong to a routine exercise conducted by the Kazakh military.
This incident highlights the rapid spread of misinformation regarding border tensions. By verifying the origin of the footage, the fact-checkers aim to prevent the public from being misled by false narratives concerning India-China relations.
Users are advised to verify the source of such videos before sharing them, as similar clips from unrelated global events are often repurposed to create sensationalist stories about regional security.
