Police drone surveillance over 48 hours revealed 67 quintals of illicit cannabis cultivation hidden under chili and sugarcane fields in Madhya Pradesh, valued at approximately ₹25 crore. Four suspects have been arrested.

Police in Madhya Pradesh initiated a 48‑hour drone‑based surveillance operation after receiving intelligence about hidden cannabis cultivation. The aerial monitoring identified approximately 67 quintals of illicit cannabis plants concealed beneath chili and sugarcane crops in a rural area of the state.

The operation estimated the value of the seized crop at around ₹25 crore, highlighting the scale of the illegal cultivation network. The use of drones allowed authorities to pinpoint the exact location of the plants without disturbing the surrounding agricultural activity.

During the search, four individuals suspected of managing the cultivation were apprehended by the local police. The arrests are part of a broader crackdown on illegal drug production in the region.

The police have stated that the operation will continue to investigate the supply chain and any further illegal cultivation sites linked to the arrested suspects.
