Delhi police personnel protested, demanding the reinstatement of ACP Manasvi Vashistha and SHO Arun Kumar after they were transferred following a Shahdara police‑station scuffle that injured an advocate. The protest coincides with an indefinite strike by lawyers over the same incident.

A group of Delhi police personnel gathered outside the Shahdara police station on Monday, demanding that ACP Manasvi Vashistha and Inspector (SHO) Arun Kumar be reinstated. Both officers were transferred after a violent clash at the station left a practising advocate with a head injury.

The scuffle erupted when the advocate, who was present to file a complaint, was allegedly assaulted by police staff. The incident prompted the Delhi Bar Association to call for an indefinite strike, urging lawyers to protest the perceived misuse of force.

In response, the protesting officers staged a sit‑in, holding placards that cited the need for due process and the protection of senior officers from what they described as punitive transfers. Police officials have not yet commented on whether the demands will be met.

The situation adds pressure on the Delhi Police hierarchy, which is already dealing with criticism from the legal fraternity and civil society over the handling of the Shahdara episode.

Authorities are expected to review the transfers after consultations with senior police leadership and representatives of the Bar Association, though a final decision has not been announced.
