Cyclone Arneb has weakened into a low‑pressure system, but rainfall continues across Madhya Pradesh. On Saturday, 27 districts received a storm‑and‑rain alert, with Anoopur recording over three inches of rain.
Cyclone Arneb, which had been tracking over the Bay of Bengal, has weakened into a low‑pressure area, but rainfall is still affecting large parts of Madhya Pradesh.
The Indian Meteorological Department issued a storm‑and‑rain alert for 27 districts in the state on Saturday, warning of strong winds and heavy showers.
Anoopur, a town in the Satna district, recorded more than three inches of rainfall, according to local weather stations, while temperatures dropped noticeably across the region.
Residents in affected districts are advised to stay indoors, secure loose objects, and monitor updates from the department.
The weakening cyclone is expected to dissipate over the next few days, but the monsoon trough may keep the rains coming.
