Cyclone Arnab made landfall on the eastern coast of India, resulting in three fatalities and prompting the evacuation of thousands of residents.
Cyclone Arnab, a powerful low‑pressure system, struck the eastern coastline of India early this week, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall to the region.
Official reports confirm that three people lost their lives in the affected areas, while thousands were forced to abandon their homes and seek shelter in evacuation centers.
Coastal villages along the Odisha and West Bengal coastlines were among the most heavily impacted, with authorities deploying emergency services and setting up temporary shelters to accommodate displaced residents.
Meteorological agencies warn that the cyclone’s remnants may continue to bring high winds and flooding to the eastern seaboard for several more days, urging residents to remain vigilant.
