Cyclone Arnab has caused the deaths of five people in Andhra Pradesh, according to reports from The Meghalayan Express.
Cyclone Arnab, a powerful low‑pressure system, made landfall in Andhra Pradesh, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall to the coastal districts. The storm’s impact was severe enough to claim five lives, as reported by local authorities and confirmed by The Meghalayan Express.
The casualties were recorded in several villages along the coast, where residents were caught off guard by the sudden surge in wind speed and flooding. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victims were trapped in homes and vehicles as the cyclone intensified.
In response, the Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Authority has dispatched emergency teams to affected areas, providing relief supplies and medical assistance. Officials are also urging residents to stay alert and follow safety guidelines issued by the Indian Meteorological Department.
