The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) has requested the Delhi Police Commissioner to prohibit all rallies and protests in central Delhi until Bhai Dooj, citing a potential loss of Rs 14,000 crore to the business sector.

The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) has written to the Delhi Police Commissioner seeking strict restrictions on public demonstrations in the capital. The trade body has requested that no rallies, dharnas, or protests be permitted in central Delhi until the festival of Bhai Dooj.

This demand comes as the business community anticipates a significant impact on trade during the upcoming festive season. The CTI argues that ongoing protests disrupt commercial activities and hinder consumer movement in key market areas.

In its letter, the organization highlighted the economic stakes involved, claiming that the festive season could see a loss of approximately Rs 14,000 crore if business operations are not allowed to proceed smoothly. The association is urging law enforcement to prioritize public order in commercial hubs to ensure a prosperous festival period for traders and retailers.
