Bengaluru commuters are concerned that the partial opening of the Pink Line will worsen traffic at the RV Road interchange, as the 13.8-km underground section remains incomplete.

Residents and daily commuters in Bengaluru have expressed apprehension regarding the upcoming partial opening of the Namma Metro Pink Line. The primary concern centers on the RV Road interchange, where a significant influx of passengers is expected to exacerbate existing congestion.

The anxiety stems from the fact that a 13.8-kilometer underground stretch of the line is yet to be completed. With this section still under construction, the operational load will be concentrated on the currently active segments, placing additional pressure on existing metro stations.

Commuters fear that the multiple interchanges coming into play will create a bottleneck effect. Instead of dispersing the passenger load effectively, the partial rollout may lead to overcrowding at key transfer points, particularly at RV Road, which is already a major hub for connectivity.

The situation highlights the challenges of phased infrastructure rollout in a high-density urban environment. Until the full underground network is operational, the strain on surface-level interchanges is likely to remain a point of contention for local residents.
