A controversial intimate sequence between characters Dhiraj and Rajji on the family drama 'Mahadev & Sons' sparked strong criticism on social media, with viewers accusing the show of crossing moral boundaries.
The prime‑time family drama 'Mahadev & Sons' on Colors TV aired a scene on Monday that featured an intimate interaction between the characters Dhiraj and Rajji. The sequence, described by viewers as unusually explicit for a family‑oriented serial, quickly became a trending topic on platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.
Social media users expressed disappointment, arguing that the show, which traditionally caters to a broad audience including families, had overstepped accepted norms of decency. Many commenters used hashtags demanding the producers tone down such content and adhere to the show's original family‑friendly premise.
The production house has not yet issued an official statement, but industry analysts note that Indian television serials are increasingly experimenting with more mature themes to retain viewership. However, they caution that any deviation from established audience expectations can provoke swift backlash, as seen in this case.
Television regulators have not reported any formal complaints, but the episode is likely to be reviewed for compliance with broadcast standards. The incident underscores the delicate balance Indian serials must maintain between creative storytelling and cultural sensitivities.
