The Chief Justice of India endorsed the opposition INDIA alliance’s rally scheduled for November 1 and criticised Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, saying he has lost credibility.
The Chief Justice of India publicly backed the opposition INDIA bloc's mass rally planned for November 1, describing the gathering as a legitimate exercise of democratic rights. In the same address, the CJI singled out Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, stating that his credibility has been eroded and urging that "Gyanu must go". The INDIA alliance, a coalition of several opposition parties, announced the rally to highlight concerns over alleged electoral irregularities and to demand institutional reforms. The CJI's intervention adds a judicial perspective to the political discourse ahead of the upcoming elections. As of now, the Election Commission has not issued an official response to the Chief Justice's remarks.
