Cattle smuggling suspect flees after trying to run over Bajrang Dal members in Jalandhar

Police in Jalandhar have reported a cattle‑smuggling case in which the accused tried to crush members of the Bajrang Dal. According to the investigation, the suspect used a moving vehicle in an attempt to run over the volunteers. When confronted, the individual leapt from the vehicle and fled the scene. Authorities are now pursuing the suspect and have launched a search operation. The incident highlights ongoing concerns over livestock trafficking in Punjab.

The Bajrang Dal team, present at the location, was reportedly engaged in monitoring the illegal activity when the attack occurred. No injuries were confirmed, and the group managed to escape unharmed. Law enforcement officials have urged the public to provide any information that could aid in locating the suspect.

The case adds to a series of recent anti‑smuggling efforts by Punjab police, who have intensified patrols and checkpoints to curb the illegal trade of cattle across the state.
