BJP MP Eatala Rajender launched a foot march from Edulabad on Oct 27, demanding action against alleged pollution from the Jawaharnagar dumping yard.

On October 27, BJP MP Eatala Rajender began a padayatra from Edulabad, a village on the outskirts of Hyderabad in Telangana. The march is intended to draw attention to environmental concerns surrounding the Jawaharnagar dumping yard.

Rajender said the site, which handles municipal waste for the city, is allegedly causing air and water pollution that threatens nearby communities. He urged the state government to take immediate remedial measures and enforce stricter waste‑management standards.

The padayatra is expected to continue through several towns in the district, with the MP planning to meet local residents, environmental activists and officials. The move comes ahead of upcoming local elections, adding political pressure on the ruling Congress‑led state administration.

The Telangana government has previously defended the dumping yard as essential for waste disposal, but opposition parties have repeatedly called for an independent probe. Rajender’s march aims to keep the issue in the public eye.
