Hackers stole $6.36 billion from Binance, the largest crypto theft in history. TRM Labs links the attack to North Korea's TraderTraitor unit.

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has suffered the largest theft in the history of digital assets, with hackers stealing approximately $6.36 billion from its wallets. The incident marks a significant security breach for the world's largest crypto platform.

According to reports, the perpetrators executed the heist by moving funds across 10 different blockchains within a short time span, demonstrating a sophisticated level of technical coordination. This rapid cross-chain movement made tracking the assets particularly challenging for security teams.

Blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs has linked the attack to 'TraderTraitor,' an elite hacking unit associated with North Korea. This attribution suggests state-sponsored involvement in one of the most significant cybercrimes to date.

In response to the incident, Binance has assured users that it will cover all losses through its Secure Asset Fund for Users. The company has committed to ensuring that customer funds remain safe despite the massive external theft.
