Bihar Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha announced a state-wide campaign to promote soil conservation and natural farming, aiming to reach 534 blocks by November 2026.
The Bihar government is preparing to transform the 'Save Fields, Save Lives' initiative into a mass movement aimed at empowering farmers across the state. Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha revealed the details of the campaign during a recent address in Patna, emphasizing the urgent need for sustainable agricultural practices.
Under this initiative, the primary focus will be on soil conservation and the adoption of natural farming methods. The government intends to provide comprehensive training to farmers to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement these eco-friendly techniques effectively.
The campaign is scheduled to run until November 30, 2026, with a specific target of reaching all 534 blocks within the state. By extending this awareness drive to every administrative block, the administration aims to create a widespread impact on local farming communities.
Minister Sinha stated that the core objective is to raise farmer awareness regarding the critical importance of preserving soil health. The program seeks to move beyond mere policy statements by engaging directly with the agricultural workforce to ensure long-term sustainability in Bihar’s farming sector.
