West Bengal authorities plan to temporarily confine the Buxa tigress, known as Doars Rani, who recently crossed into Assam, citing concerns that firecrackers may disturb her.
West Bengal forest officials have announced plans to temporarily confine a tigress from the Buxa Tiger Reserve, locally known as 'Doars Rani,' following her recent incursion into Assam. The decision comes amid concerns that the animal might be disturbed by the noise of firecrackers, which are commonly used in the region.
The tigress, which has been tracked moving across the border, is expected to be managed carefully to ensure her safety and prevent further human-wildlife conflict. Officials stated that the temporary confinement is a precautionary measure to protect the animal from potential stress caused by local activities.
This incident highlights the ongoing challenges in managing wildlife migration in the border regions of West Bengal and Assam. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely to ensure the tigress remains safe until she can be released back into her natural habitat or managed according to standard wildlife protocols.
