An Assam minister revealed that 70% of paneer samples tested failed to meet quality standards, with five classified as unsafe for consumption.

An Assam minister has disclosed that a significant majority of paneer samples tested in the state failed to meet established quality standards. The official stated that 70 percent of the samples did not conform to the required benchmarks for dairy products.

According to the minister, out of the total non-conforming samples, 41 were identified as problematic. Of these, 36 were categorized as substandard, indicating they did not meet the necessary quality criteria.

More concerning, five of the samples were classified as unsafe for human consumption. This finding highlights potential hygiene and safety issues in the production or distribution of paneer in the region.

The revelation underscores the need for stricter monitoring and enforcement of food safety regulations to protect public health in Assam.
