A 24-hour shutdown has been called in Arunachal Pradesh by a group of young people protesting the construction of the Siang dam. The protesters are concerned about the potential environmental and social impacts of the dam. To maintain order and prevent any escalation of the situation, 34 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed in the region.
