AIIMS Bhopal has advised the public to wear protective eyewear during Diwali to prevent severe eye injuries from fireworks sparks and debris.

AIIMS Bhopal has issued a critical health advisory ahead of the Diwali festival, warning that sparks and flying debris from fireworks can cause severe damage to the eyes. The medical institution emphasized that even a single spark can lead to serious injuries, potentially affecting vision permanently if not handled correctly.

To mitigate these risks, the hospital has strongly recommended that individuals wear protective eyewear while setting off fireworks. Special attention has been urged for parents to keep children under strict supervision during firecracker activities, as minors are particularly vulnerable to accidental eye injuries.

Furthermore, AIIMS Bhopal has explicitly advised against using home remedies or traditional treatments if an eye injury occurs. Instead, the medical team stressed the importance of seeking immediate professional medical attention to prevent further complications and preserve eyesight.
