The Agartala Lighthouse Project has inaugurated two housing blocks, providing new homes for 278 families in Tripura's capital.
The Agartala Lighthouse Project, a state‑sponsored housing initiative, opened two new residential blocks in the capital city of Agartala on Tuesday.
The inauguration ceremony saw the handing over of 278 newly constructed homes to families who had been waiting for years for affordable housing.
State Housing Minister Ramesh Kumar highlighted that the project aims to provide modern, energy‑efficient dwellings with basic amenities such as water supply, electricity and sanitation.
Officials said the two blocks, each comprising 14 units, are part of a larger plan to construct 1,200 homes across the state by 2026.
Residents expressed gratitude, noting that the new homes will significantly improve their living conditions and reduce overcrowding in the city.
